RideN2B - Exploring the Mass Central Rail Trail from Northampton to Boston

The inaugural test ride of the Mass Central Rail Trail is happening from September 20th through the 22nd. Come meet the Ambassador Riders, show your support and learn about the longest developing rail trail corridor in New England.

Ninety years ago, this cross-state train link was severed by a hurricane; this year, its being restored by bicycles. Ambassador Riders from the Mass Central Rail Trail Coalition will do an exploratory tour of the Northampton to Boston corridor, riding through 26 communities to test trail conditions and see first-hand some of the important gaps that need to be filled in order to finish the rail trail.

This is a great opportunity to talk with residents, advocates and local officials about how a completed Mass Central Rail Trail will promote tourism, economic growth and healthy communities -- and what is needed to get it done. Although only a few end-to-end riders can be accommodated this year, this is the start of an annual event that will attract new visitors to the Commonwealth.

Each day will include multiple information stops featuring local officials and trail advocates, and the public is encouraged to attend these sessions, sign on to FinishTheRailTrail, cheer on the Ambassador Riders and get some great MCRT swag.
